The Commissioners Court of each county is composed of four commissioners and the county judge. The county judge, as a member of the commissioners court, is vested with the same authority to make motions and vote on all matters as each commissioner.
There are two types of terms for the Commissioners Court. A regular term, which is held once each month, and a special term, which may be called at any time. A session of the Commissioners Court is simply that period of time at which the court is actually sitting and discharging its duties during the term, recesses included.
Fayette County Commissioners Court meets every second and fourth Monday of each month in room 303 of the Courthouse.
